Echoes, actually.  Before that, I started hunting some Chet Baker and Carla Bley.  Ordered The Lost Chords Find Paolo Fresu and put Embraceable You in the ole carriage.  What Ho is listening to looks interesting.

Hey!

That is a very nice one. I really enjoy that one. :D

I even have that one on vinyl LPs set... yes I paid more, a lot more for LPs  :icon_lol:

Sadly I don't think they released the earlier one on LP.  :?

Take care,
Buddy :thumb:

Ho and Set-  Uh, no.  That's something I would expect to hear in a bar.  Background music for superficial intentions.  Me only, perhaps.

Hi Buddy and Jim. My Costes CD was bought from a flea sale for $4. Have not seen the vinyl version in the record shops and I guess they were probably a limited pressing. So hang on to your copy. I got the CD cheap (the Costes CD series cost about $20 each when new) cause the cardboard digipak cover was torn and frayed and also the lacquer on the CD had lost its shine -  I suspect the original owners may have played it to death in their bar or something.

Jim, love your phrase "background music for superficial intentions". Gonna use the quote to politely jive the bartender to change the disc next time he plays something me and my Guinness don't gel with.

Chet Baker's voice is great for lowering your heart rate after a jog or workout. He also gets on very well with the wee small hours of the morning. However, too much of the singing Chet can be a little hazardous if you're driving interstate long distance especially along the quiet lonely stretches. Chet, Shirley Horn and a certain JJ Cale can put a bawling critter of a baby into deep peaceful slumber better than any pacifier on the market.

That made a top ten worst albums list I saw some time back, have never heard it though.  Dang, now I'll have to admit that I kinda sorta know somebody that owns it...  :(

Hey!

Well, Jim I think it just you

Yes, I do enjoy this album for what I would call a "relaxing evening" for me where I grab a bottle of wine and just sit there in a dimly lite room and let this type of music spin. :D Or just doing things around my place. Well, but that's just me.

Ho Tsing Mee, yes, the LPs set seems to be a limited run. Don't laugh... I think I paid something like $30 for the set  Well, I'm a sucker when it come to vinyl LPs

Take care,
Buddy :thumb:

Here ya go, Buddy, you can get me back:  Joe McPhee- Nation Time (Unheard Music Series).  Some of the craziest, pedal to the metal jazz you ever heard.  Acid jazz before there was such a thing.  Recorded live at Vassar in 1970.
