Nice Slush  :thumb: Only have a few of his, but have always liked his work. Saw him in a hole-in-the-wall neighborhood pizza joint I worked in briefly in '76. Just him, his guitar, and of course his overcoat.  8)

Probably an awesome  way  to see him, be it was a cool little gathering
If I remeber right,  Slush was  saying not too long ago he was  going to see him,  just him  &  the guitar, no band   :thumb:

Love JA's music.  Believe I'll spin "Bless It's Pointed Little Head" tonite.  Listened to their Woodstock album only a couple weeks ago.  Great music never gets old- take classical music, for example- to those who appreciate it in the first place.  I guess its the same for me as it is for you.  Some tunes, JA's or anybody's, wake me up as tho I've been asleep and I appreciate them all over again.  Tunes from this band more than anybody's from this time and place . . late 60's San Francisco.

For Christmas I received box sets for Spirit and Jefferson Airplane. Each box set had their first 5 albums. I decided to start with each of their debuts. I haven't extensively listened to either band before other than any songs that would have been played on the radio over the years.

Yeah, I saw him on December 3rd at the House of Blues in Houston. Nearly dead center and about 10 feet away. It was a solo tour and he played like a much younger man. I'd see him again in a heartbeat!

Nice! I wish I could have seen him back then. Dirty Jeans is a great Hiatt album. Allmusic gave it just 3 1/2 stars, but only knocks it because they didn't like the "polished" production. Whatever... "When New York Had Her Heart Broke" is a fantastic song. One of his best and a great way to end an album.

Gov't. Mule featuring John Scofield, Sco-Mule (2015)

Awesome!  From Allmusic:
Quote
This double disc set was taken from a pair of December 1999 gigs in Georgia where the Mule -- guitarist Warren Haynes, bassist Allen Woody, and drummer Matt Abts -- invited ace jazz guitarist John Scofield and keyboardist Dr. Dan Matrazzo to sit in. They were originally intended for release as a live album, but due to Woody's premature death a couple of months later, they were shelved. These shows mark the very first on-stage meetings between Scofield and Haynes, who've played together many times since....Sco-Mule is high-flying musical collaboration at its very best. Inspired, in the cut, wildly creative, and sprawling, this is the evidence that these cats brought everything to the stage in these shows.

We haven't met yet Jim. I think most of you guys live near the Woodlands. I've been just south of the Clear Lake area for the past six years. I'm in the process of moving to the central part of the city (77019 area code) and hope to be fully moved in by the end of the month. I'd like to attend one of the Houston Audio Society meetings in March or afterwards if it works with my crazy schedule.
