Nice Slush Only have a few of his, but have always liked his work. Saw him in a hole-in-the-wall neighborhood pizza joint I worked in briefly in '76. Just him, his guitar, and of course his overcoat.
Diggin' in the vault eh WC Both classics.
Probably an awesome way to see him, be it was a cool little gathering If I remeber right, Slush was saying not too long ago he was going to see him, just him & the guitar, no band
This double disc set was taken from a pair of December 1999 gigs in Georgia where the Mule -- guitarist Warren Haynes, bassist Allen Woody, and drummer Matt Abts -- invited ace jazz guitarist John Scofield and keyboardist Dr. Dan Matrazzo to sit in. They were originally intended for release as a live album, but due to Woody's premature death a couple of months later, they were shelved. These shows mark the very first on-stage meetings between Scofield and Haynes, who've played together many times since....Sco-Mule is high-flying musical collaboration at its very best. Inspired, in the cut, wildly creative, and sprawling, this is the evidence that these cats brought everything to the stage in these shows.
Gov't. Mule featuring John Scofield, Sco-Mule (2015)Awesome! From Allmusic:
Yeah, I saw him on December 3rd at the House of Blues in Houston. Nearly dead center and about 10 feet away. It was a solo tour and he played like a much younger man. I'd see him again in a heartbeat!
Slush, have we met? You a member of the Houston Audio Society?
