Finally saw them on the tour supporting Tom Cochrane and Red Rider. It was a great show and they played a lot off Neruda. It's one of my desert-island discs no question.

Kate and Anna McGarrigle- self titled (Warmer Bros). "Heart Like a Wheel" from this was popularized by Linda Ronstadt. Sure is buitiful. Whole lots of cats in the studio for this like Tony Rice, Tony Levin, Steve Gadd, David Grisman, Loudon Wainwright, Lowell George, and on and on. Canadian girls. Actually there are three. Only Canuck composer/singer that I know of who wrote and sang as poignantly is Joni Mitchell.

I was hooked on these guys the moment I heard "Lunatic Fringe" for the first time. I was a little disappointed with the rest of the album, but it grew on me over time. I was stationed in Spain when "Neruda" came out and knew nothing about it until I saw it on cassette in the Navy Exchange. I bought it and I'm pretty sure it was the only album I played that week. I still play it every month or so.

I liked the Saturday Looks Good to Me, Alpine, The Front Bottoms, and Nosound albums the best of the newly released albums I listened to. Now back to listening to my own music library:
