(later) I'm in some very good company here, to my joy. I gave a listen to Anouar Brahem- courtesy of Orf- and like it very much. How is it Orf has such exotic taste? As to the rest of ECM's catalog nowadays, I'm dismayed by the profound lack of excitement. It's all so introspective/contemplative. They didn't use to be so totally. I own some burners on this label from the 80's. I did enjoy some Manu Katche scrolling at the bottom on the Amazon site, tho. Think I'll buy these. Orf, anyone, own a copy of Double Image- Dawn (ECM)? Don't think this made it to silver disc. Pity.

Music changes....but I still find that most ECM releases are still recorded very well...I enjoy many of them.

Actually, I picked up a couple of Anouar Brahem albums at the Border's sale earlier this week and checked out a pair each of Crispell and Stanko from the library. Happy coincidence it was.
