The Pretenders (Nautilus half-speed)- a terrific album. One that's virtually good start to finish. That's rare, don't you think? Tattoed Love Boys, talk about kickin your jams out. And Private Lies, talk about an original composition in the amidst of a balls to the wall record (check out the drum accents). Progressive and original rock.
Art Blakey and The Jazz Messengers, Keystone Korner 3 (Concord Jazz)- A desert island recording recorded with the right perspective if you were in the club and positively excellent playing. Check out Blakey's back up on the last track. Clean cooking with gas! This one featires the Marsalis brothers, Wynton (in high spirits on the last track) and Branford on alto! Real time, direct to two track in the club.
