I liked it, but the songs are a little more simplistic than on some of her other albums. I think I liked Siren better.

Not a huge improvement, but noticeable. The original Geffen release is very good, but the MFSL is a little warmer sounding and seems to be less compressed when things get loud. I actually bought the MFSL version before I bought the original, and was damn impressed after hearing the Geffen. You can't go wrong with either of them.

I've been listening to her since her first album was released and initially thought the same thing when this came out. After a couple of plays I started to realize how good this album really was. Mercury Rev is the perfect backing band for her and some of the stuff they do in the background won't come through on the first play. Maybe it will grow on you, maybe it won't. I actually prefer the folkier arrangements on Storm. All of her albums are good. Not a stinker in the bunch.
