I haven't seen that name in a long time. I used to love his Oxygène album. I can't believe I don't own it now.

 I've got it SP,, and 4 other of his albums besides. That's an advantage of hard drive, once you've got them, chances are you're not going to lose them, if you're religious in backing up your hard drives. And I'm religious.

Cheers,
Robin

Gregg Allman - One More Try: An Anthology (1997) (Disc 1)

Samples

Quote
Gregg Allman's "One More Try: An Anthology" is a most unusual retrospective, for the 34 songs on the two CDs include only eight performances that have ever been released before. Perhaps this is an admission by Allman himself that his solo albums have been over-produced in a way that distracted from his primary asset, his blues-drenched baritone. That voice dominates the stripped-down demos, pre-orchestration alternate takes and live performances that make up the 26 previously unreleased tracks. Many of these rarities suffer from a lack of rhythmic push, but to hear Allman growling and purring his way through his favorite Muddy Waters, Jackson Browne and Bobby Bland tunes, as well as his own originals, is a genuine treat. Highlights include a jam with Johnny Winter, Buddy Miles, and Berry Oakley on "Wasted Words," an acoustic-guitar-and-vocal version of "Come and Go Blues" and a soulful reading of Percy Sledge's "When a Man Loves a Woman." --Geoffrey Himes

I've been seriously looking at going the hard drive route for some time now. I'm close, very close to doing it. The burden of copying 2500+ discs to a music server is the only thing holding me back. If work at my job slows down a bit (pretty stressful right now) and my obsession with collecting rare discs decreases a little I'll probably commit to something. It will happen. Someday.....  8)

Heard a couple of cuts on Pandora so I ordered and it arrived today. Well recorded for a live album.
I know it's older but was under my radar..playing from the Oppo through my MS20L.. Sounding so good!
