The Sound - Thunder Up (1987)
Samples"The fifth and final studio album by British post-punk rock band The Sound."I love The Sound. There were dozens of great British bands in the early to mid 80's, but these guys are probably my favorite. I think Adrian Borland was one of the best songwriters of the period and always wrote lyrics that focused on the positive instead of the "gloominess" that his contemporaries were so focused on. One thing I always liked about their studio albums is they were never overproduced. You won't hear layer upon layer of keyboards and vocals with these guys. I like to think that what I hear on their studio albums is close to how they sounded live. Guess I'll find out soon enough as I recently ordered all five of their live Dutch Radio Recordings

Get this one quick. Their reissues are small batch, infrequent, and don't last long. This is one of their best.
You can still buy it for $15 if you
