Just popped this one in for a first listen....
On the second track....different but really really cool so far...
Starts out like a Pink Floyd album, with guitar riffing that even seems a bit Gilmouresque

The Mars Volta - Amputechture

Edit: This is a dense listen, like all their 3 albums, however, this one *may* be the most accesible, maybe not, depends on what one thinks is accessible. Pretty complex in time signature, but not pretentious like a lot of 70's prog.

Jimmy Smith - Back at the Chicken Shack - A must have for any Hammond B3 lover.

Otis Redding - Greatest Hits. Enough said.

Robert Cray - 20.

Jonny Lang - My own CD version of his greatest hits.

Keb' Mo' - Just Like You. Take a listen to any Keb' works. He is the greatest singer you've never heard of.

The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus - How the heck did I stumble on these guys? I like 3-4 of their songs, plus it keeps me up with the new music.

Coleman Hawkins - Body and Soul. A great disc to wind down to.

Well it was something like 15 years ago (grad in '93), but didn't want to admit it.

Kid: woman is away visiting family, I've been working on projects and cranking tunes all day too. Except I am working on the SB supply, so its my DVD player (transport) that is getting the work out.

Nice.. Lucky you.. I love it when I have the whole house to myself. Yea, I gotta get busy on modding my SB3.. I just hate to part with it. I just got a new computer with Vista and had some issues getting it working 100% but it is working great now..
