Hi Doug,

If you're still referring to the Beastie Boys... I know that their first album didn't appeal that much to "adults," but if you've followed these guys' later stuff, they are extremely creative and talented musicians and technicians... even jazz like is many cases with very complex song structures... at times amazing. That being said, I can't listen to them much me-self, only in doses. Just trying to point out that they ain't no slouches. And, I agree YMMV.

I don't think it's fair to slam artists or musical styles in a "What are you listening to" thread. This is a thread to expose others to music they may not have heard before, not to criticize.

Right on, Slush! We don't need that to get a hold in this thread or that crap will never stop. And doing a hit and run by offering up an "opinion " and then trying to hide behind a "YMMV " or "IMHO" doesn't make it right or better. If what someone sees here is not to their taste, remember, it doesn't have to be. It's a big bus and we're all on it together so don't be dropping your baggage on other passengers' toes.

It wasn't directed at your post. Your feelings on them are similar to mine. I like them quite a bit, but only in small doses. This thread is my hangout on A/C. I don't want to see it go downhill.

hey, guilty as charged.

and i normally try to bite my tongue (or fingers?) when i see stuff here that does not appeal to me. but, i confess, i was pushed over the edge by seeing the woting on the hall of fame link. ya, i am in the "small doses" camp - there's a coupla songs by the b-b's i have heard that i actually think are ok. but hall of fame material? oh well...
