Apart from being wonderful, this disc is quiet - i.e. excellent music for 2am, when one doesn't want to wake the kids or the wife. I've put it on a few times over the last couple of weeks, in the wee small hours, and it sounds sooo good. I'm starting to believe the stories people tell about superiority of electrical supplies in the middle of the night. How else do you explain the weight Scott LeFaro's bass has when my squeezebox volume control is turned down to about 2 or 3? And the delicacy of Paul Motian's cymbals?

I have always enjoyed Ace's work. His SOLO album is definitely the best of the bunch..

Son Volt, The Search

Just picked up the new Son Volt cd from Best Buy for $9.99 and it includes a free disc with 3 extra cuts. Not as good as Okehma and the Melody of Riot imo, but still pretty listenable.
