Those are some pretty ugly differential equations in the background of that cover!  I was pretty good at DiffEQ at one time, but the first equation looks to be pretty ugly with the inverse of a square root in the differential.

Hey!

JoshK that's funny  I have this album and it is on vinly LP aa

Anyway, I like this album but I have not idea what those equations mean. Well, I can't even do a simple one... I am really suck at math.  :icon_lol:

And you know what? I'm Asian and I do wear glasses! :jester:

Take care,
Buddy :thumb:

Come on Buddy, you are letting down the "reputation" of the Asian peoples...

the full-length debut from Sam Zaman (a.k.a. State of Bengal) propels him straight to the head of the class of progressive drum & bass and global groove. Along with Talvin Singh, State of Bengal is one of the pillars of London's Asian Underground scene documented on the classic Anokha collection of DJs and drum & bass renegades. Liberally and ingenuously mixing Bengali folk music with Western dance music, State of Bengal cooks up an exquisite blend that effortlessly marries the traditional to the up-to-the-moment.

quite a bit. Laswell production, his samplings and Wayne Shorter's high sax. Plenty of spacey fusion soundscape stuff, some middle eastern vocals (incld. Fahim Dandan) - some strong rhythm's - Aiyb Dieng, Sly Dunbar, Zaker Hussain. Kookey guitars, a B3, tabla's, strings and electronics. A rendition of Zawinal's Cucumber Slumber (Weather Report). Oh yah, and William S. Burroughs "Words of Advice".

Yah, Bill Laswell is a man of many talents... that is a wicked disc  :thumb:

NYC acidjazz jam band... been a fan of these guys/gals since the Giant Steps days (1990), they have shrunk a bit, less horns but still funky as ever. 2nd track 'Ransome' is a tribute to Fela with some nice Afro-jazz-funk vibes. Over 70 minutes of music.
