Recorded in 1992, with major contributions from guitarist Jean-Paul Bourelly... nice... the Japanese pressing sounds good too.
I don't think I was aware of this record. If you own any other CW stuff, how is it in comparison to works like New Moon Daughter etc...
Thanks
I might venture to say "superior" but I might be biased since I prefer stuff less polished...her later works strikes me as a little too polished, but I like her singing, so I can listen through the settings. Much of her earlier (before the jazz mags got wind of her) works remain obscure, she was on quite a few M-Base members records. Dunno why this didn't get much attention here, but was released in Japan in 1992, and its mostly original material. I am a big fan of Jean-Paul Bourelly too, so this was a bonus having him play such a sizeable role on this date.
Edit: Its been at least a year since I heard NMD...on listenning to it again, I have to amend my above comment...NMD sonics are superior, and the album very balanced overall, whereas 'Dance to the drums' is more raw, organic and spontaneous.
