Natalie Merchant - Leave Your Sleep

George
Listened to this some more.  Man, I gotta shout out about Natalie Merchant.  This album is extraordinary for a popular artist.  Wait, it's extraordinary, period.  Said earlier, it must have cost her a fortune and a very long time to make this.  So many different musicians and as many arrangements and all with extraordinary quality.  And it comes across have no doubt.  A hard bound book is included with this with photos or drawings of the poets she draws from and bio info about each from no less than five contributors.  And the sonics, besides the art, are VERY (underline that) high quality.  I had to bypass the sub woofer I have on loan cause acoustic bass is not limited.  5 Stars for every reason important to me, and to you, romantic audiophiles.

Tears for Fears - Rare B-sides (1999 - Starborne Records SRCD 1999-018 - Bootleg?)

Can't remember where I picked this one up, but glad I did.
Acapella, acoustic, and "unplugged" versions of their hits. Lots
of songs and instrumentals that never made it to their albums.
An awesome live version of Radiohead's "Creep" at the tail end.

Edit: After some searching I found this import version of
"Raoul & The Kings of Spain" that has seven of the "studio
tracks" on my disc included as "bonus recordings".

If you love this disc as I do, it's highly recommended.

Benny Carter and His Orchestra: 1939 - 1940

Duke Ellington - Never No Lament: The Blanton-Webster Band

Anyone wondering which Ellington compilation to get that has his best
music from the swing era...look no further than this.  The packaging on
this 3 disc set stinks, but the music is timeless and the mastering job
is first rate.
