Monsters of Folk

Ruby Mae,

What are your impressions of this album? I'm a big Jim James fan and I like M. Ward too.

Thanks

Laura

I'm a big M. Ward fan and I really like Conor Oburst so I love the cd. You can pick it up the cd for $7.99 on Amazon. They played not too long ago at The Beacon but I had already been to 2 shows that week and was feeling a bit wiped. Of course now I am regretting that decision!

Them Crooked Vultures

A "side project" of Josh Hommes from Queens of the Stone Age/Kyuss/The Desert Sessions/etc, with Dave Grohl (fortunately Josh does the vocals) of Nirvanna/Foo Fighters and the drummer from Led Zepplin.

I find track #6 especially cool.  I really reminds me of Cream's Strange Brew but has this really cool bass line.  Slap bass maybe?  Sounds pretty jazzy but works.

David Gilmour--David Gilmour in Concert DVD. This is a phenomenal performace with acoustical instruments dominating (guitar, stand up bass and cello) and a 15 voice choir sing backup.

Correction - Bass player from Led Zeppelin.  The drummer met with an unfortunate end.

This CD rocks!!!!

I am listening to something quite different.  Decorating the tree music.
