John Fahey - The Yellow Princess
John Fahey is incredible. Sadly, I only have "Death Chants". I really need to get more of his collection.

If I had not discovered him via Leo Kottke, I may have passed him by. Some recordings on some albums are almost unlistenable unless you understand the history (some tracks turn out to be recorded from 78 records he had collected ), thankfully many tracks are much better . I recently read his book, How Bluegrass Music Destroyed My Life.He was pretty much the bridge between Old Time County/Blues solo guitar players and modern steel string Solo Guitar players, as far as recordings goes.

"America" came on and I was completely spellbound. After listening to 4 or 5 bluegrass songs, all of a sudden this gorgeous, almost unclassifiable songs comes on that froze me in my tracks. I ordered the album from Amazon as soon as the song ended. It gives me goosebumps every time I hear it. Thanks for the "Yellow Princess" recommendation. I'm ordering it tonight."America" link:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wklogEy2Rlw

Tears For Fears - Sowing The Seeds Of LoveThis one makes my "perfect album" list.
Use Your VoiceMason Jennings Played this three times now, Still have not decided if its a brilliant country folk cd or what up with it, Lyric driving and minimalist in presentation not sure how well it will stand up ED
