Whatever the reason, The Living Road sounds from the samples alone to be the better album. Much better on second listen. I've ordered it.
All my friends who've heard both albums prefer
The Living Road by far. When I first picked it up after very much liking
La Llorona, I found it so different and sufficiently didn't like it that I set it aside for a couple of months before giving it another listen. Now, it's one of my favorites. You may like it or you may not. It does seem the more appreciated album judging by how a few of its songs have been covered by others unlike the first album (such as Nynke Laverman doing a Frisian version of "My Name Is.")
Gathering up a few dark ambient albums to play for when the trick or treaters drop by. Surprisingly, most of my dark stuff is more energetic in tempo and lyrics than I'd wish to play this evening and so I haven't too many to choose from. Thus, I'll likely do a random play of these and possibly a few others track by track.
