With the Japanese Riken Ohm resistors now discontinued, what options are people looking at. I have a good supply of Rikens right now but they won't last forever.

I do prefer a good carbon film over the carbon comp due to less drift.

I have a few ideas of what to switch to when the Rikens runs out but just curious as to what others like.

I need a resistor that is and hopefully will be available on a regular basis. Discontinued pieces that are hard to find are really not on my list.

Applications are grid stopper and screen grid.

I haven't tried them myself, so my suggestions are just a list of ones to consider only.

Kiwame
Stackpole

I ordered some Kiwame's to use in my Aikido line stage but haven't tried them yet.

Stackpoles seem to come highly recommended as well as AB units.

I have used many Kiwame resistors in the past and while they are a nice resistor, not up to par with the Riken.

Yes, almost forgot about AB, used those in the past with really good results.

Are you sure you need a grid stop resistor at all?  I've had some luck getting rid of them and just using a ferrite bead on the wire going to the grid.

In my 300B mono blocs that I am working on having released this year, I have been experimenting with and without grid stops. I am getting very good results with both. The way I see it, if I get good results without the grid stopper, there is no reason to have it.

I have other amps (mods) where I will leave them in place and this is where I will be using the Riken and now AB resistors (I found a good supply of ABs in the values I need).
