How would those of you who are using the 350 or 550 amps describe the house sound??

Well my house sound is a 16 x 22 x 9 foot room with sonex ceiling and acoutstic fabric walls.  Sounds pretty good.

To answer your question, I have a 350 EXR and it sounds very dynamic but without any hint of harshness.  Like a straight wire with gain  8)

I would rate the 350 ever so slightly on the dark side, with a feeling of both power and refinement.  "Accurate" comes to mind as does the oft misused "musical".  Remarkable clarity.  Typical of virtually all AVA stuff is its remarkably controlled and forceful bass.

The above is a very good description of all the AVA equipment I've heard. The first thing you notice is that your system is actually playing bass now. Then you note the clarity of the mids and highs. And then you notice how the whole thing seems to be completely effortless, open, and natural. :)
