It looks interesting, but I fear taking such a leap of faith. I can't seem to find much feedback about them.

The low end output is weak for a floor standing double midbass driven speaker if you ask me.

http://www.madisound.com check out the prices per driver, then add up what you think they should cost...

Look like an over sized MTM to me.

The low end doesn't look that bad for a pair of 5.5" drivers imo. It's only ~3db down at 40Hz based on the overly smoothed frequency plot.

I'm not sure what the price comment was meant to suggest, but the drivers alone from madisound wound total almost 1100.

The price is fair given the cost of the drivers - but by the time you are paying $1000+ for a kit, there are a lot of really good options out there.  If you prefer smoothness to detail (which is what you are paying for with Scanspeak drivers), then you might also like the Exodus Audio kits, which will offer you more LF extension.  If you prefer detail, the Ellis 1801 will do better in that department and cost less - with similar LF extension.  Some of the projects on the htguide.com mission possible diy forum (mostly based on Dayton RS series woofers and either Dayton or Seas tweeters) will cost less and also give excellent results.

According to my boxmodel program, if i use a 35l box tuned @ 35hz, the -3db point is just under 35hz. That is slightly smaller than the box shown in the kit. If I model the box in the kit, the -3db point is even lower, but the driver xmax gets a little much. I know that the drivers are expensive, but after hearing a friends diy pair of speaks with Scanspeak 18w/8546 midbass's in an mtm design, I've just gotta have that midrange sound!

I was looking at the graph which shows -3db at 60hz..... Nevermind if it is at 40hz, that would be good.

I believe that the graph is for driver response only and does not take into account the port's contribution. At least that's what it looks like to me.

I'm also eyeing the Exodus 2641, but wonder about it's efficiency. It seems like a good deal and there are lots of positive comments on the Exteamis's ability to provide a solid bottom end.

Sorry to add more options to your list, but the gr research and selah kits are pretty nice as well.
