New Monarchy Audio DAC resembles Lite Audio full chassis DAC

Except for the added preamp board and the toroidal trannies this thing is identical to Lite Audio DACs!

Well, to me it almost looks like two different DAC in a similar box

- Toroidal transformers vs R-core
- BB PCM63P-K chip vs PCM1704U-K
- 6DJ8 tubes vs 6922EH

AND

- $1490 vs $470 (now that is pretty major!)

Wonder if the sound quality justifies the price difference!

Looking at the pictures it appears as if the quality of the parts used is the same as tat of the stock DAC-60 unit. I would guess that it would sound very similar. What the Monarchy models gives you is a built in pre-amp as well.
