Hiya guys,

I've been searching all over the place for a link I (thought) I used to have. It was a company that sold really nice quality cases for DIY audio projects. He had sizes that could handle preamps, and amps, solid state or tubes, plus a few assorted smaller sizes. They are made of either cold rolled stell or aluminum as I remember. You could get them brushed or anodized too.

The best part you could order single cases (no minimum order) and they weren't overly expensive.

Anybody have a good lead on amp casings?

TIA

Hi Scott,
Here is a post I have up on Market Square. Are these the chassis you are thinking of? I bought out the inventory.

I bought a number of these but can spare a few of the 2" models as they are about a quarter inch too short for my original intentions. Only the aluminum pieces are available. Black units not for sale. Great for many projects including crossovers, passive preamps, etc.

Back side has 3 sets of 1/2" holes for RCA jacks plus custout for IEC unit.
I DO NOT have the screws for mounting the face plate or cover plate.

Internal: 11.5" D x 15" W x 2 1/8" H
Price $75 ea. Only 8 available.

Bill,

The ones you've got might have been what I was thinking of (if they came from a guy in the States).

Not yet. I'm not sure whether to get a completed UCD amp or buy the modules and have it assembled for me. But these are some of the nicest cases I've seen.

I've sent you a pm. The extent of my skills is simple soldering, knowing + from - and having the ability to zap myself occasionally when I do electrical around the house.

Yes, I think so. It was Analog/Digital DIY? The same person that had the CDpro kit?

I bought out all of the chassis he had left for some preamp prototypes as well as external x-overs for the Bella speakers.

I looked into these some time ago but unless you purchased in large quantities, the pricing was quite high. Then add in shipping and it wasn't worth it in my case. There are several nice chassis available from overseas but only makes it worth while if purchased in large quantities.
When I finalize my preamp, I will be having the chassis manufactured here locally about 2 miles from my store.

I have several of the 2" chassis shown above and they do work nicely for crossovers (below) but a bit too short for tube linestages. I have a few passive preamps built within the chassis and they worked very nice. I use them for testing.

The picture shows the external crossovers built within the chassis on the floor next to teh speakers.

The price on the case I was interested in was very reasonable...about $60. But shipping by air was over $100 for a few cases. I didn't have direct contact with ATI, and was quoted those prices through another vendor. Maybe they have changed their pricing structure.

I bought 4 - still in the mail.

cost of product is low. Must do money transfer to pay for them ($40 fee at my bank) and slow ground shipping for four of these was an additional $50). So when I get them, I'll tell you if it was worth the $75/piece I ended up paying.

All,

I have one of these:
http://www.atiresearch-anodized.com/ATI-737U.html

and one of these:
http://www.atiresearch-anodized.com/ATI-735U.html

that I am not using and am willing to sell.  They are in new condition.

I bought them a while back and yes, shipping to Thailand + wiring fees got expensive

$85.00 for the large one, and $70.00 for the small one (plus shipping).

Email me if interested.
