GK-1 using Stepped Attenuator

Hi all,
Is this any good ?
http://www.welbornelabs.com/remote.htm
It uses a "shunt" attenuator design.
Seems to me a good way to have Remote volume control, but is it better/worse than the standard pot that comes with the EL GK-1 version ?
regards,
Felipe

I've had one on order since 6th January Felipe... I will let you know in a couple of weeks. The main driver for me was a GK1-R remote control code clash with my Loewe Planus TV!

Aureluis,
Tuff luck
Can you tell me wich attenuator (10K, 50K, 100Kohm) did you think was best to use with the GK-1 ?
And also, wich brand for the series resistor in the shunt topology ?
(Dale, Vishay, Caddock, Allen Bradley, etc)
Thnks

Hi Felipe
I have one - well the boards and components anyway. They have just arrived, and I will start working on them this weekend. I checked with Hugh before ordering and he seemed quite impressed from the description on the Welborne site. I went with the 50K version.
Mark will probably have his in his preamp before me - I am looking at further delays with some other parts before I am up and running. I will feedback when it is installed though.
