Is there a problem with this combo? RW site mentions M2 for redbook, does that mean no for sacd? I have a Sony 685 cdp, was going to do the Decware tube mod, but am thinking I'd prefer the M2, unless they don't mate well.

There are no external dacs for sacd available, so the Monica will only work with your player when you've got a regular cd in it. If you primarily listen to cd's then monica is probably a good choice, but if you're looking to improve the sound with sacd's too then modding the player is the only option.

Thanks for the explanation Gary. The M2 would work for me.

Hi Don,
If you have multiple inputs for your preamp or integrated amp, you can use the external dac for redbook CD and the SACD player's analog outputs for SACD...
