Klaus's favourite recordings and format?

Klaus, as you are the maestro around here, and as some of us love to discuss our favourite recordings on CD, SACD or LP, I'm sure I'm not the only one curious about your particular listening habits. Care to take some time to respond? Is it Deep Purple or Debussy? The White Stripes or Wagner? Buddy Guy or Beethoven?

Klausophiles might also want to know which toothpaste you use and your favourite Odyssey colour?

All in fun,

James

This is a great topic and I think it will have some suprises, as far as I know Klaus is not only on the audiophile type music, he has much more diverse musical tastes, let´s wait he brings his person and write some lines.

Now, that's a great question!

I just happened to be placing an order with Klaus last Friday when I looked at my watch and said I had to run to make it to a Wynton Marsalis show. He gushed eloquent about a Marsalis show he'd been to a few years ago.

Is that any indication what he's listening to today? Dunno. But inquiring minds would like to know ..... C'mon, Klaus. 'Fess up.

Haven't heard Grand Funk in years but I did have their 2nd album for awhile. Not sure I'd buy it again:

How about some of his "roots" singers like "Nina Hagen"! Think of it like a female Alice Cooper in women's clothes... as to her band...plenty of "Weiser Bier"   !

Hey James,

Is that Super Session CD you are refering to the one with Mike Bloomfield, Al Kooper and Steve Stills?

Yes, that's the one. Quite an improvement over the old CD and quite a few bonus tracks including Season of the Witch with no horns.

That's what I thought...the old CD was just a basic red book copilation! The real thing of course is the original LP (Columbia/CBS 9701)..I have a mint copy! This record was created in one take. The only overmixed was the horns recorded later as an afterthought. "Season of the Witch" remains one of my personal best songs... I have to check the new CD!

Another Grobschnitt fan?  :)

How about BAP? It's on the amp test CD that came with my units.

I have a few nice BAP bit torrents he probably doesn't have... just nothing to show off his gear with.
