Anyone Audition The New Daedalus DA 2?

I'm intrigued by the new DA 2 speaker, which is smaller than the DA 1, sort of a large (very large) monitor and wonder what you think of it?

Wowee, Bill.  Thanks for the visual.  The wood on the DA 2 featured on  Daedalus' Website is very nice, but the speakers in your pic are awesome!  Could you detail the electronics driving them?

Sure can. In this picture. The system sis as follows:

Grommes 360 tube amplifiers (on back windowsill)
ModWright SWL 9.0 linestage (black face)
 Music Hall MMF-9 turntable

I can remember which CD player or tuner he has in this pic. Maybe Joe will chime in here and fill in the details.

Wow, what happened there. Let's try this again. I really need to start looking at what I write before hitting the Submit button

If you go to the Daedalus page of my website, you will see much better detailed pictures of the wood working skills.

Thanks.  On a purely esthetic level (although I know there are sonic reasons for it), I am amazed at the dove-tailing of the cabinetry.  My father makes cabinets as a hobby and I know how time consuming dove-tailing is, and I am not aware of any other speaker designer that goes to such pains, although I'm sure there might be a few who do.

Audiophile39,

Since this is one of the JAM'n Audio rooms I guess I should reply. The current configuration is as follows:

Daedalus Audio DA-2 speakers (solid Black Walnut)
Grommes 360 monoblock amplifiers (60 watts)
Mondwright SWL 9.0 SE in black
Sony DVD-S900es DVD/SACD player (2 channel)
Phenomena phono preamp (in for evaluation)
Magnum Dynalab 101a Tuner
Music Hall mmf9 turntable
Revelation Audio Labs Silver Cryogenically treated cables
Star Sound Technologies Sistrum rack

This is a small room, 10' x 11.5' x 8'. Even though the DA-2's are a larger than normal monitor type speakers, they totally disapear in this room and cast a very wide soundstage.

Hope this answers your inquiry.

Joe
