I'm back....
The new Signature 30 Prototype drove the Omegas very well. The Super Hemps were very well received and surprised a lot of people who never knew that single full-range drivers could sound so fullrange. We appreciated so many nice comments from many Canadians (lots of them were from Montreal) and well as a couple of Canadian mags (UHF and Son and Image) as well as American Wired, 6moons, and others.
I had the iMod there as a source and lots of people were blown away by it (lots of them never heard of the iMod, so it was great to show it off to a new crowd). A few times we had the iMod running while the turntable was running (just not connected -- when we were swapping sources around) and we heard comments about how amazing the vinyl rig sounded. It was funny when I had to mention that is was actually the iMod that was being played
When the Omega Super 3 XRS speakers were running, we received a few comments along the lines of "are those the big ones playing" (referring the the Super Hemps) and "is there a sub running with them?" They sounded so big for something so small! Looks like a review from MSNBC describest this same reaction:
http://msnbc.msn.com/id/12040053/The new 4.5" Hemp driver in the XRS was also there, but Louis just received it right before the show and it had no break-in so we didn't play it too much. He is still working out all the details with that driver, but it is definitely a drop-in replacement for the 4.5" Fostex.
The people were very friendly and I enjoyed meeting so many new faces (consumers, manufacturers, magazine reps, etc.). Lots of people attended and I should have made a lot more brochures
I'll try to post a little more later.... I need to reply to a few more threads and then get back to building...
Cheers!
