Seeking RW Teac users comments

I have a stock AL700P to be modded by Vinnie in Feb.
Can any owners tell me their experiences with the RW modded amp?
I plan on using Hawthorne OB speakers (with powered sub if needed). (Have other speakers too).
Am also leaning toward RW iMod in near future, or RW dac for my Sony 685.

I don't really feel like writing a detailed review, but I will say this--send it to Vinnie. The amp is completely transformed by his mods. Anything you like about the amp will be improved ten-fold. The most jawdropping difference is the bass. I have absolutely no urge to look for another amp and that's the highest compliment I can give.

Plus, Vinnie offers great service.

I sent a new amp to Vinnie after reading posts like the above. Because I'm working at understanding the lingo and analytical observations (which I do appreciate) I can't go there. But the RWA Teac I got back is outstanding!!! I listen to a bunch of different music and am sure that the amp has been THE difference. Trust Vinnie and his work

The RWA Teac Mod makes this amp stand alone in the 30 watt arena. It is an extremely powerful amp, the bass is absolutely peerless, -attack transients have to be heard, to be understood. And then there is the crystal clarity of battery powered T chips. Takes some time to burn in, but sounds great right out of the box.

Just do it.

Hi all - thanks for the comments, it's good to hear from those who have the modded amp. I asked mostly as I have been out of the audio loop for several months, when I checked back in there weren't any recent comments on the RW Teac, and I wondered if anything was going on I missed. Sounds like all is well.
I decided to send the amp in for the mod, but with Vinnies recent move he felt I should wait until Feb., and so this thread to help through this troubled time.
BTW, looks like I'm going for the iMod as well. It feels good to simplify things.
Also building ob's for Hawthorne drivers...and most importantly I went surfing today after weeks of storms. Even though the waves sucked it did it's therapeutic thing. All better.
I'm open to any more yadda yadda about the Teacs, especially with ob's and iMods.
Dmason- I have b200's and will build baffles for them , and eventually get a comparison to the Hawthornes.

With a pair of higher efficiency (I'd say >90dB is best) speakers and a modded iPod as your source, you'll be a happy camper.

That's right! I'm finishing up your SB3s and will then move onto the other 2 projects. I can ship them as they become available, or try to ship them all together...whatever is best for you.

Glad to oblige, Nodiak; the Teac with the 15 inch cone of the Silver Iris will be something I also am looking forward to in coming days and weeks. It doesnt take much juice to make true 96db speaker do its thing, but with the big pro audio stuff, add something like the Teac, OB configuration, and watch what happens. I am hoping to get mine wired for bi-amp. (T on bottom, bottles on top.)

Sorry to hear the surf sucks where you are. I write from Cabo San Luca, and as such, am suffering none of the problems you mention, with the local shoaling conditions, water temperature, or any the other hardships of a long SoCal winter. The hummingbirds have been particularly bad this winter, around my home, and Santa Ana offshore winds have lowered the humidity to a very dry 20% for much of January, making for blinding sunlight conditions, not to mention kicking up bits of sand onto my patio.
