Someone just pointed this out to me. You can buy the PCM1704 DAC evaluation board from TI for just $399.

Oh yeah, it's much larger and split into two boards. Uh, you also have to program it with a windows PC. And it doesn't have the low-noise tricks I put into HAGDAC. It won't plug into a CHIME. But hey, it's probably better than other DIY DACs at that price point.
