Danny,
Is there a potentail timeline regarding the release date of these new line array series?  As far as I can count, there are LS6, LS9, and a yet-to-be-revealed reference design.

Will the LS9 incorporate a bass management system?
What are your thoughts on 'tapering' the xo for your LS designs?

Emilio had a couple of questions that I would also be interested in the answer.

Someone also asked when the plans would be available?  :?:

As long as I am pushing, any time frame on when kits will be available?  There are some Maggies calling my name, and I am tempted.   :?

And again since I am pushing, have your firmed up the kit cost?

And if push comes to shove, how 'bout the center channel?

It is very likely that there will be some sort of bass management system.

No plans will be made available yet and I don't have a release date to announce as it is not within my control yet.

The cost will be confirmed after I have built the finial networks for them and know the final cost of that aspect.

A center channel and surrounds will not be worked on until I complete the LS-6 and LS-9 models. There are plans for them though.

It looks like the last pieces of the puzzle will arrive here to me at the later part of August.

Tweeters are here.

The first pair of enclosures are being air freighted in so that I can have them ready for the RMAF.

A couple of cases of woofers are being air freighted in too.

LS-9's will follow, but won't be ready for the RMAF.

Danny,

Have you ever actually gotten to hear a prototype, or will this shipment of woofers, tweeters and cabinets be your first real chance to put together an xo and hear how things sound?

I have had to wait until it all gets here to design a crossover and get it all together.

I do have a couple of woofer samples here that I have listened to. They are very nice. I can't wait.

That sounds good, I look forward to hearing how things go.

At this point, just speculating, how do you think that the LS6 will differ from the Alpha in terms of performance?  What strengths will the new speaker have in comparison to the Alpha?  Are there any areas where you think it will be giving something up?

I don't think that there will be any areas that it gives anything up. For sure the off axis response will be better due to the way the tweeters are built. The woofers are much better designed as well. It should be a step up across the board.

That's saying a lot.

How about the same questions in comparison to the Epiphanies?  Any chance that the guy who bowed to the speaker might be urged to sacrifice something to a new LS?

Again the LS models will have better off axis response. The more narrow playing surface the wider the image it can through. The wider diaphragm and the short wave guide limit on the Epiphanies limit its dispersion.

Clearly the LS series will play lower. I expect mid 20's. The Epiphanies were designed to be used with subs. So the LS series should have a fuller and more impactful quality to them.

It's hard to say. Kits might be avilable soon. I am starting on the LS-6 crossover this week. I am just waiting on something else to get here (still).
