I have a chance to acquire a pair of Jaguar 2000's for $750. I've already got a pair of 25th Anniv. Sapphires and while I'll probably be able to do a listen next weekend I'd like to know if anyone has an opinion on comparisons between the two.

Quite frankly I could be happy for the rest of my life with the Sapphires and a sub but the audio bug bites and the Jags have always intrigued me.  Would it be true to say the Jaguars are a step above these particular Sapphires?

Go for it! Your 25th Anniversary Sapphires are very fine speakers .. . the 2000 Jags are a next step up. Enjoy!

Well I got 'em. They're much bigger than I'd thought so he'll deliver via pick-up next week. I had just bought a very well cared for Pioneer Reference (before they put Elite on the front) integrated A-717 which must be one of the best things Pioneer ever built and it made the Sapphires really sing I'm curious as to how the Jags will sound on them.

Now do I sell the Sapphire or go home theater...decisions, decisions.

After an afternoon of listening to my new/used Jaguar 2000s and comparing them to the 25th Annv. Sapphires my only question is why'd you stop making them Mike? Simply fantastic.

I also moved up to a pair of Jaguars this summer from the Sapphire 25's.
Got one of the last pairs that ACI had in the shop in July.
I think they are a different version than the 2000's but similar lineage. (Mine look like Eric's above and I use an ACI Titan sub).

Also very happy. Took some time to set up actually and also had to play with coupling material to my DIY stands, but they sound great now.
