There was the theatrical cut with the happy ending and narration by Harrison Ford. The Director's Cut cut out both of those as well and added the Unicorn dream sequence.

There were two different theatrical cuts as well as the director's cut.

The new version has a theatrical release..and the re-cut extended version is divided into four books...each with ending credits using about four  minutes (16 total) with only around 6-7 minutes of actual new footage.

The extended disc has no DTS.
Bottom line imo...wait for Blu Ray if you already own the original.
