The Onix Magnetic Suspension Platform is designed to transform the sound of your favorite electronics. Sure it looks cool with its flawless piano black shelf and suspension pods but it's really all about the sound...

The MSP-1 features a 1" thick MDF gloss black shelf that is suspended by five adjustable neodymium magnetnetic 'pods' (or footers if you like). This allows you to *float* up to 130lbs of equipment magnetically; removing nasty vibrations from being transferred to your equipment from the floor or shelf it is currently on. We all know how sensitive our electronic gear is to vibrations and those vibrations lead to microphonics. Microphonics describes the phenomenon where certain components in electronic devices transform mechanical vibrations into an undesired elecrical signal (noise) [src: Wikipedia]. Digital components are especially susceptible to this and that is why we recommend the MSP-1 for all your components in any serious rig...preamp, CD player, amplifier, DAC etc...they can all benefit from the MSP-1. You may not realize the contanimation your system is receiving currently - until you remove it. It is like a veil has been lifted...blacker backgrounds...a greater sense of spaciousness...cleaner bass and up through the frquency chain...all will be improved.

Sounds interesting Sean. Question, is the shelf physically suspended and totally separated from the bottom (really floating due to the magnets)?

I was wondering the same thing.... I can see how it would separate in the vertical plane, but how do you avoid contact within the suspension "posts" when lateral movement occurs?

I checked out one here and while you are placing the equipment, it may touch but once you let go and it 'settles', all contact seems to be disengaged.

Are they height adjustable?

They are 85mm tall and are adjustable up to about 107mm (however some threads will show when adjusting taller)

That's interesting. Have you compared it to air bladder supports?

Did it work particularly well with the Emotiva?

Sorry, I have not.

It does work well with the pre amp but the amp is not as perfect due to the weight being offset towards one end of the chassis. To get it to sit perfectly level in this case, you can add additional pods in the area of greatest weight.

Shipping to the UK would run about $85USD.

Out of the blue, I get a UPS shipping notice from Perpetual Technologies. It took me a while to remember that I ordered 2 of these. I think they are shipping now. Or they are sending me a surprise pack.
