I'd really like to audition a pair of the 1801s (any of the versions would be fine). Are there any owners in austin tx that might be willing to let me hear a pair?

I can recall two gents in TX - Clint Pautsky and Doug Ngai.  Doug is in Amarillo TX.  I am not sure how close this is to Austin.  Both of their iformation is listed on my Customer Community page.

IME, guys who build speakers are somewhat like alcholoics.  The critical difference is that these guys are really audioholics.  In either case, drug addicts generally prefer to consume their favorite "brew" with other users.  I always enjoy my time with other users.

I can certainly vouch for Clint - who was a gracious host for my listening session at his abode in College Station. And I was blown away by the exquisite soud of his speakers, so much so that I placed my order next day.  (Mine will be completed in 2-3 weeks; if you're in the Houston area after that time, you're welcome here).

I would be very interested in hearing the 1801's when you have completed them. I trying to decide on a speaker project and I'm considering a pair of 1801's.
