current draw @4ohms with D-200

Hi: Does anyone know how many amps the D-200 amp draws @ 4 ohms?

The amp meter on my Belkin PF40 power conditioner say each D-200 amp is drawing 0.6 amps. Doesn't seem to make any difference weather I play the music softly or very loud it's always 0.6.

This is typical when driving a reasonable load. We fuse them at 3A but it will only approach that if driving <2 ohm loads at extreme levels

Dusty, what type of fuse's are required for the D200's, UK 230volt spec, I.E. size, amperage, slow or fast blow.

We use the same rating worldwide, but you can use 2A slo blo for 220~240v AC lines. There are other protections built-in, so the mains fuse acts only as a last resort.

Power consumption is not as simple as it may seem. Amplifiers are not like lightbulbs or something that draws a consistant amount of power.
With amplifiers, it depends on the load and output power. If you figure continuous 325w into 4 ohms for a maximum, you're looking at around 360 watts usage. With a music signal at reasonably loud levels and an 8 ohm load, you'll likely average less than 100w.

Yes, they use a slow blow 1.25" type fuse.
I've never tried the "audio grade" fuses, but I doubt you'd hear a difference.

Balanced vs. single-ended really depends on the equipment involved.
Both are capable of excellent performance.

This is a related question. Based upon comments I have read here it "appears" that the D100 and D200 are sonically equivalent (assuming you are not driving speakers that require the additional current of the higher powered amp) With relatively easy to drive speakers in a moderately sized listening room will there be any sonic advantages to the higher powered amp...ie, more effortless presentation, more powerful bass? Vs the lowered powered version (D100)?

Sound quality is essentially the same, so I'd suggest the D-100's unless you need the extra power.
