Vinnie,
When Jerry is done with his audition, I will ask him to send the Teac back to you so that you can give it a look....and make sure everything is working properly.....thanks !!
...

Hi Lonewolfny42,

Your Teac is with me and everything is working out perfectly....both ChairGuy and AudioJerry clearly took good care of it (thanks guys).  The unit arrived with fully charged batteries (the way it should be, especially if it is not going to be used for a few days) and I spent the last hour listening to it connected to my Super 3 V2s playing Wynton Marsalis' "The Magic Hour."  Everything sounded fantastic... very dymanic, punchy, lots of life and energy, non-fatiguing and well balanced (of course the Super 3s in room response doesn't go much lower than the mid 50Hz range).

I really think that the ChairGuy and AudioJerry's comments about this unit's bass response was due to them using power-hungry speakers.  Still, I'm glad they tried it and they did a nice job burning it in!

Lonewolf...you should receive your Teac back on Tuesday.  I'll send you the tracking info once it ships.

Thanks again to everyone,

audiojerry

Thank you, too, Vinnie.
You are one of the really good guys.
Others might have taken things personally or started a flame war, but you have handled everything with class and integrity. Ditto for LoneWolf.
Thanks goes out the Chairguy, too.

What a great bunch of guys - I wish we were all neighbors!

More power!  I'm feeding my b200 drivers with an odyssey stratos and they eat it up like pie :)  Though it played just fine, spl wise, with a stock Sharp, the sharp could not keep up when the impedance rises approaching Fs.  Perhaps the teac will do the trick!  Even with reduced bass with the sharp under 100hz, the sound had great impact, so I'm sure Vinnie's teac will rock even harder.

If I understand correctly, you have a Stratos, and you are hoping the Teac will provide more power? That's not going to happen. Unless something is wrong with the Stratos, it is far more powerful than the Teac, in my opinion.

Only just started listening...but a few things pop out...black background (battery power)....VG detail...bass true to form...everything is smooth thruout the listening range. I like it !! :D
As time goes on, and when I have time, I'll try it with all the different equipement I have here....it will be interesting....and that battery thing really works....  8) [/list:u]

Lonewolf and I spent a few hours listnening to his modded Teac slotted into my rack, replacing my Aksa 100 N+, driving my Alon IVs.  I was very impressed. I had little expectations for this diminutive amp to drive these moderately inefficiant 3 ways. At lower volumes (the way I listen at night when my wife is asleep above the listening room), the Teac had very impressive, well controlled and extended bass. I was very surprised. From the mids up, I heard a resolving presentation with good soundstaging and imaging. It was a bit 'feathery', but no effort was made to optimize via interconnects, etc..., and it was driving a tri-wire harness.

At higher volume levels, the Teac clipped. The Alons really need 100-300wpc. This isn't surprising given the speakers and the 16' x23' listening room. But with the proper speakers, listening environment, and sypatico acilliariaries, I can envision a tremendously satisfying system.
We threw the diminuitive RWA Teac into the deep end, and she aquitted herself quite admirably.

    Nuforce and listening fatigue

Wouldn't listening fatigue make you want to stop listening?  I haven't stopped since I got my Nuforce 8.02's.
