I had to share this one. I was turned onto these guys last week by a guy at the office, and it just so happened they were playing in Charlotte Saturday night. Well my inital impression was great, so I made the show. What a GREAT show this was! A place called The Evening Muse. If you ever see a show you're even remotely interested going on there, GO to it. The sound is better than any venue I've ever been to.
Anyhow, check out these guys' latest album called Red Dog Tracks. It is a fantastic work. Chip Taylor is actually John Voight's brother, and he has written hundreds of songs recorded by Johnny Cash, Hendrix, The Troggs, and even Shaggy. LOL
I highly recommend at least giving this a listen. I'd classify it as a mix between folk and alt-country. Great songwriting, and good, unpolished vocals make it very believable. It doesn't hurt that Rodriguez is kinda hot.
