How many total inputs (non Phono) on a Tempest with the "Second Set of Outputs" & "HT bypass" option?

Here's a back panel photo of one with both the bypass and a second set of outputs... It isn't mine, but it does belong to a friend

Just so happens I have one for sale.
My Tempest has a second set of outputs, remote and H/T bypass.
Here's a picture of the back of mine that should answer your question:

Can someone elaborate on the differences between outputs on the Tempest?

James K-M

The obvious difference is the type of connectors.
The large gold outputs on the left are screw on RCA connectors.
The smaller ones to the right are standard RCA jacks.

In my application I used the large connectors on the left to connect my amp.  The smaller output connectors were used to feed my ACI Titan IILE sub.

My current speakers don't require a sub when running two channel so I no longer use the second set of outputs.  Now I just run one cable from the LFE port on my home theater receiver to my sub so the sub is only in service when running home theater.

FYI - My home theater receiver has pre amp outs for all speakers.  I tie the main left and right speaker pre amp outs to the aux inputs on the Tempest.  When I want home theater I simply move the selector knob on the front to AUX and I'm in home theater mode.  Works very well.

Interesting observation and KUDOS TO KLAUS:
I've tried a couple of other preamps in my system and without exception they must be powered up for the home theater bypass to work.
With the Tempest this is not the case.  I can flip the selector knob to Aux and turn the Tempest off if I like and Tempest passes the signal right on through to my amp driving the mains with no problem.

I point this out not as a sales pitch, I posted on Audiogon last night and had an email this morning from a guy that will send a check today.  Also I'm not a techy, but it seems to me that Klaus's design is as pure a bypass as you can get because the Tempest doesn't have to be powered on for it to work.  It can't be doing much to the signal if it isn't turned on.
Just my two cents.
