Recently, the American Film Institute conducted a survey of 500 film composers, musicians, critics, and historians to name the top 25 film scores of all time. Star Wars (Episode 4) topped the list. So on a whim, I decided to pick it up...and you know what? It's pretty darn good. I haven't seen the film in a long time, so I didn't really have anything more than the opening theme in my head about it. But beyond that opening theme, this is an incredibly rich soundtrack, full of themes and variations, etc.
