I have been listening to my 1995 Sapphires for a long time now, and they are still super.

My question is, if I want to replace the drivers with scanspeak drivers that are in the Sapphire XLs, would I get any performance upgrade?

If yes, would the original crossovers work with the new drivers?

Balji:

I'd leave them as is. The crossovers are completely different, the cabinet is completely different.  You're right, they're still super, I'd just continue to enjoy them the way they are. That design was about as optimized as possible without starting from scratch.
