Anyone seen or heard this PRE Amp???

Since I'm checking out pre's, (waiting for IRD, shipped today) I noticed this Philly Blues all tube unit. Go to link at audiogon:http://cgi.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cl.pl?preatube&1055779611&class&3&4&

I know nothing about tubes, so any opinions would be great, it will be mated with PS audio hca-2. Price is right (er, i mean Cheap!) and it sure looks nice. Could certainly afford to install some more exotic tubes. I would doubt that it could compete with ava T7.

Tyson, you recommended changing tubes in T7, HOW much change did that bring for you???

I haven't heard it, but I have heard the Philly Neutron 300B monos. That was by far the best listening experience I have EVER had with a 300B. It was an amazing implentation of a tube that gets a bad rep for lack of bass, and no extension. Tell that to Philly Audio. hehe

Did you ever pursue this? I've been emailing Jim (Philly Audio) a bit and may try to get hold of one to arrive at the same time as my new Odyssey amp or shortly before hand. I'm trying to find out about the 2 week trial they offer. Shipping would be free for me since I'm in the midwest so worst case I get to listen to it for the cost of return shipping. I'd be comparing it to Sonic Frontiers SFL-1.

byteme, I have not pursued this yet. I am waiting for the IRD and have
been indecisive about trying the Philly. I've been meaning to phone then up and chat about the pre,just busy lately with other stuff. Who knows what tommorow will bring, Keep us all posted.
It would be great to get your take compared to the SFL-1 !

Well, I ordered one. I confirmed, worst case I'm only out return shipping back to NY. It's free shipping to me. According to the reviews that I was sent, this sounds better than Rogue 66 magnum and Densen DM-20. I know nothing about the Densen, but I know the Rogue is supposed to be a pretty sweet piece. I should have it in a week or two and will compare it to the Sonic Frontiers. I'm hoping it's arrival corresponds with the Stratos!!

Be sure and post a review! I am looking forward to the version coming with remote. Although it will cost a lot more. I just loved their amps so much, I'd be wlling to try the pre.
