Nathan,

I really lucked out on finding the Daystar Genesis. A local dealer had it sitting around and sold it to me for something like $200.

With a 466 G3, 768MB RAM and a stripped array of Seagate Cheetas running through an Atto Ultra 3 SCCI card, it'll handle Pshop files up to around 120MB pretty handily. Even so, it's a lot slower than the G5 when opening and saving. I think the bottleneck is the old 40mhz bus of the motherboard. Plus that old 10baseT ethernet pretty much blows.

You know the main reason I switched to the G5 was my old Radius Pressview monitor was dying. I'm a firm believer in hardware calibrated monitors and the replacement, the Sony Artisan won't run on the old OS. (Radius stopped making the Pressview)

I think part of why I don't like OSX (besides your complaint) is I don't know how to go in and work under the hood. I mean I had my old OS8.6 stripped down to the bare essentials, which why I think it was so stable.

My big gripe w/ PshopCS is it's file handling. It always goes back to the last folder when opening and saving. In 6, you could have one folder you were opening from, and another where you were saving, and it would remember which was which.
