Carlman,
Thank You for your positive and insightful review of my interconnects and speaker cables.

The interconnects that you preferred (with the red cable tie) are the cables that I feel work best with tube gear. If you were to put them on a solid state amp you would find that they are a little thin in the bottom end weight and that they are tilted upward a bit. I am one of the few people that I know of that has a separate interconnect that works best for tube amps and one that works best for solid state amps. That said there are some tubes amps that prefer the solid state amp interconnects. The Dodd monoblocks appear to like the solid state interconnects.
As some of you have seen my pricing page on my web site is blank. The reason is that I am not sure what to call my interconnects and speaker cables. What I am going to do is run a contest to come up with a name for my different cables. I have 2 different types of interconnects. One for tube amps and the other for solid state amps. I also have a speaker cable to name.
For the contest I would like people to name my different cables. The winner will receive a free interconnect or a speaker cable. There are so many good names out there that have been taken. I need help with good names. Good Luck!!!

Or actual cable names.

I think you should use your name instead of "Reality Cable" b/c your name really has a nice catchy elegance to it, kind of like Kubala-Sosna..

Keeping the play on the word Reality maybe instead of the previous words you can use something to describe how transparent the cables are.

Transparent Reality

Unaltered Reality

Inaudible Reality

Or if you prefer instead of reality you can shorten it to Real.

Real Harmony IC's

or

Real Clarity IC's

Something like that.

I still prefer the initial suggestions, but Im bored at work so my brain is needing excercise.

The broad line could simply go by Reality Cables to maintain name recognition amongst those who have followed your work and to provide an umbrella that permits for a more focused, differentiated nomenclature at the product/model level. In terms of specific models, how about the following options?

1.   Straley Ethos
2.   Straley Sequent
3.   Straley Nuance
4.   Straley Invariant
5.   Straley Method

Additionally, you could add qualifying colors between Straley and the product name, e.g. Straley Blue Ethos, Straley Red Method, Straley Yellow Nuance…

Well, I guess it makes sense that the tube version sounds (ever so slightly) better (to me, in my initial listening) since the DK's preamp section is tubed. I still plan on going back and forth between all cables this week and doing a final speaker and IC cable swaperoo to add more detail to my findings.

I think the naming contest should be moved to Market Square and allow this post to remain as a place to review and add comments about Gregg's cables. Tyson, can you split the posts from Gregg's last one to here to the Market Square?

As to naming suggestions...

I think Reality Cables should offer:

'The Reality Series' standard IC's and SC's:
RS-S1 The standard IC for solid state
RS-T1 The standard IC for tube
RS-SCS1 Speaker Cables for SS
RS-SCT1 Speaker Cables for Tubes

This allows for additional lines of cables, versioning.. etc.

So, if you find some little tweak you can say it's the RS-S1.1 or if it's a big change, the RS-S2... etc.
Or, if you add a different looking kind of cable, you could have a new series.. 'The Ultimate Reality Series'
UR-S1
UR-T1
etc.

It is very popular for name branding to include the company name first for recognition and association. Name should be memorable as well and reflect what it does. So, I propose:

Speaker cables Tube => Reality FourTs
Speaker cable Solid State => Reality FourSs
Interconnect Tube => Reality OneTi
Interconnect Solid State => Reality OneSi

Bi-wire, make the Four into Eight.

Simple, Easy to remember. Substitute the number Four with the number of wires bundled in the speaker cable. It works for Ray Kimber, who is not a bad model.
