I just wired my entire system with Silent Audio, except the speaker cables. I am a big proponent of simpler is better, and these cables are as simple and as good as you can get. They really seem to add very, very little to the music, and they are insanely inexpensive right now. I will post a review as soon as I have a little time. But they are great in my system, but of course, everything is system dependant.

LordCloud is so right about cables being dependent on your system!  I've found the VH Audio Pulsar's http://www.venhaus1.com/VH_Audio_Test.html to be the best match so far for my setup, but Gregg Straley's Reality Cables are getting great write ups as well. Frank at Signal Cable http://www.signalcable.com/ has excellent inexpensive cables and is great to work with as well. The Cable Company http://www.fatwyre.com/ has a loaner program that could be helpful...

Read these current threads on killer speaker cables as they refer to IC's as well...

Try to set up a few audition samples in your price range and do some comparisons with your equipment.

Oh, and welcome to AC!!! :D

Take a look at the Outlaw Audio PCA interconnects. They are very well made and IMO, are incredibly neutral, particularly for the price. I have Outlaw PCAs through most of my system.

If you want silver cables the classic masSilver IC's can't be beat for the price. I have these on my CD player outputs and the main L/R connections between my preamp and power amp.

The closest I have found to Giant Killer interconnects are the Z Squared Au/Au Topline RCA found at auction on Audiogon.

I know no one who has ever owned true Giants to prefer Giant Killers if the Giants could be afforded. There has always been a discernible difference in sound between the two.

Not true...

I can afford ic's that are more expensive than my VH Audio Pulsar and Symmetry ic's.  I keep them because of their performance!!

The fact that one is very cheap and the other resonable is a great benefit, but certianly not the driving factor behind my choice.

I really like Signalcable interconnects, simple, neutral, very affordable, very well made and Frank is super to deal with.

I guess it depends on what you mean by "Giants". If you mean ICs that cost hundreds of dollars per foot, I have no experience with cables like that, they are far beyond my means. But I have had cables costing 2-4 times as much as the Outlaw and masSilver cable I have in my system now and thy are still there because IMO they were the most neutral, not because they cost less.

Zybar, I now know one person who prefers a Giant Killer. I'm glad to read that you're satisfied with the Pulsars...until you hear a Giant you've yet to hear (at least that's what happens to me).  :)

tvad4,

What is your definition of "giant"?  Please name them, inquiring mind wants to know.

Thanks in advance,

Interconnect Giants that I have tried would include Purist Audio Venustas, Kimber Select 1030, Nirvana SL and SX, Acoustic Zen Silver Reference. Giants that I have not heard would include Kubala-Sosna Emotion, Purist Audio Dominus, Valhalla...you get the idea.

In general, I consider Giant Killers those products that sell for $200 or less for a 1 meter pair (your price point may likely differ). Contenders for Giant Killers that I have heard include VH Audio Pulsar, Z Squared Au/Au Topline, and various Signal Cable models.

Interconnects that are too expensive to qualify as Giant Killers (based on my value scale), yet not expensive enough to qualify as Giants include: Audience Au24 and Revelation Audio Labs Paradise. Both are exceptional for the price, especially the Revelation Paradise. The Audience Au24 is a great value on the used market.

In my experience, the Giants have always outperformed the Giant Killers, but I accept that system synergy, personal preference and budget play enormous roles in one's decision.
