SB2 can't handle downloaded music?

Thanks for the reminder.

Most of those CDs are full of scratches and broken plastic cases, at least but some of them are listenable.

According to this article (thanks Paul Bui) SqueezeBox 2 doesn't work with iTunes, Napster, and other downloaded music formats:

http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/bus/stories/061805dnbussqueezebox2.1d8322e0.html

Does it work with any such formats?

Anyone know if this will/can be corrected in the future?

thanks.

From the Squeezebox FAQ:

Please note that music purchased from the iTunes Music Store ("Protected AAC" (.m4p) files) is encrypted and cannot be played back with Squeezebox2 until Apple provides the necessary hooks to enable this. In the meantime, it is possible to burn your iTunes Music Store songs to CD and re-rip them as unprotected .m4a files.

Or as Ogg, or FLAC (though there's little point of ripping compressed sources to FLAC, methinks).

I have a bit of music that I've purchased from iTunes for my own reasons: finding new artists that I want to sample, can't find this music otherwise. But the sound quality is relatively low vs. ripping CD's in Apple Lossless. Still good enough...
