I am thinking about upgrading the power cord on my Onkyo T9 tuner. If I want to replace the old cord with another two conductor cord, what wire should I consider and will I get an improvement over the stock cord or do I have to go to a three conductor cord and put a three pin IEC connector onto the back of the Onkyo to get significant improvements.
I want to go with a two conductor cord because it's a lot easier to take out the old cord drilling a larger chasis hole if necessary, and put in a new cord with strain relief than it is to cut the chasis for a three pin IEC connector.
But obviously I am not goig to do this if I won't get an improvement in the sound quality.
