Clarinet into headphone amp...

How hard would it be to use a Clarinet PCB and use is only as a headphone amp? Any ideas how I would need to mod it? IE: how to wire the output for a 1/4 inch Phono? I would skip the selector switch and balance control, just go from input to volume. I love the clarinet and spend alot of time listening to my HD650's and would love to build a great sounding headphone amp!

Thanks!

I'm not convinced the cathode follower output stage has enough oomph to drive headphones.  The output impedance is a little under 1000 ohms.  You need something well under 10 ohms if you don't want a huge loss of bass information.  Unless you have high impedance Senheissers or electrostatics.  In which case there is probably not enough output voltage.

My guess is that you need a power buffer in there to drive the phones.  Maybe there are some DIY designs floating out there you can adapt?  Let us know what you find out.
