In the last two weeks I have added a Moon Orbiter universal player to my system. I am in total denial about how much difference this piece made in the sound in my room. Purchased from the owner on Agon and installed by the local SimAudio rep here in B'ham, Audio Forest, the Orbiter easily surpassed any expectations of improvement I could have hoped for. The detail, soundstage, bass, presence, and midrange are the best these ears have ever heard from digital sound.
We set up the processor to play CD's through the Krell processor and through the Orbiter dacs and during ABing the two it was no contest. The Orbiter sound smoked the Krell dacs in the processor. I can't comment on the video section as I have been having too much fun listening to music but if it is as much improvement as the audio it will be outstanding. BTW, I replaced a Denon modded unit with the Orbiter.
My system includes Krell amp/processor, the Orbiter, Selah Audio XT8 front speakers, Selah Audio Citrine sub, Selah Audio CC and rear speakers, MIT speakers cables and IC's. Anyone in the market for the ultimate in a universal player owes it to them selves to audition the Orbiter. Anyone wanting to hear may drop by and listen to it in my system.
