Hello everyone.
This has probably been asked more than once but I could not find it using the search. I have a 7.1 system with subs for the front, center and sub special effects. My reciever Onkyo is wanting to crossover the speakers at 60hz if I say it has a sub. I hooked up the system by saying no sub and using the tape out for the sub. All of the speakers are using full range now with tv broadcast with the sub revieving audio from the tape out. (Onkyo customer service told me to do this.) When i ran a dvd it cut out the rear sub so i guess the tape out does not work with that format. Could i use the speaker level B out  to the inputs of the sub amp? I have nht amps that allow speaker level ins or preouts.  If that is the case I will just by some speaker wire and run to the amp. If not how can I get the rear sub to work and still get full range to my other speakers?
Thanks again for the help
Rick

Does the reciever have preout jacks?  If so use them instead.
If not speaker level connection will work fine.  You may have to run them off of speaker A.  I do not know your receiver specifically, but some of them will only output stereo when speaker A & B are engaged.

The tape out jacks will only work with analog signals and would not give you any control over volume.  Your DVD is a digital signal, that's why the sub did not work.
