Anyone have a preference or an opinion on either of these speakers?

Which is the better deal:

Epos M5 for $500/delivered

OR

Audio Note AX-2 for $449 plus shipping.

Thanks!

I would have been slightly inclined towards the Audionote until recently. Now, however, I would get out my saw, make a simple open baffle or box and get a pair of Visaton B200s to play with for the same money.

I would expect more detail, sensitivity and years of fun!

Russell;

I appreciate the info re the B200's, but quite honestly, I'm an idiot when it comes to any DIY project that requires measuring, cutting or any other use of hand tools.  As Dirty Harry said, "A man's gotta know his limitations."  I could no more "make a simple open baffle or box" than I could finish 1st in the Tour De France.

Now, about those speakers . . .  :D

Can we add the Totem Arro to the mix for $650?

Personally, I'm a Totem fan.  Real tough to beat for the money IMO.
